SU. OBSTACLE TRAINING
Obstacle training was pretty sweet. It was very hot out. We did it after going to the beach and since we sat in the sun all day then put on our UA heatgear, it was even worse. Corey got sunburnt, even though he is Native American. But despite the heat, the sunburns and the bees, we kicked the shit out of the workout!!

It was three of us, Corey, Jay and I. We did the usual circuit, the drag bag was an extra pain in the ass. This thursday we are bringing down an older, but light tire to start carrying. Yeah buddy!!! I’ll try to get some new pics.

Thoughts: Same thoughts as usual, hard as hell, but I’m recovering faster from the workouts.

M. OFF

Thoughts: We were absolutely exhausted, so we treated ourselves with a day off. I gave my notice to my job, so that was emotionally draining. Corey had a rough day at work pulling cable. So, we need supps, so we headed over to Flex Appeal, got some protein, glutamine, vitamins and pre workout powder. Expensive day, but we finished off the night with a shower, dinner and watched Rocky II till we fell asleep. Much needed day.

So we turned back and went to our usual gym. Didn’t get home till 8:45pm..yuck. The workout took longer than usual because we were teaching one of his friends our workout.

TH. OBSTACLE

FUCKING GREAT WORKOUT!!!! Instead of 4 times, we did 5!!! Took us pretty much the same time to do 5 sets of all of the obstacles as when we were just doing 4. I take that as a compliment!! We are getting faster and stronger.

I did 3 sets of the 440lb tire (3 x 5 flips = 15) by myself!!!! Corey was there to make sure it didn’t crush me, but I pushed, lifted and flipped that bitch!!! My shoulders are all scratched and bruised, but man I felt like beast.

I didn’t take too long of a breather between exercises, I kept going and going and going. I stopped thinking and just pushed through it.

Time: 1:38:51
Calories: 872
Max HR:181bpm
Avg HR: 147 bpm

Thoughts: I felt so good during the obstacle training, but today I’m definitely sore today. I have cuts and bruises all over the place, so this weekend will be interesting! I’m heading to my place up North (those of you who are not New Englanders, we say “up North” going to New Hampshire, Maine, Vermont. I’m going to New Hampshire, which is roughly a 2 hour ride.

S. OUTDOOR HILL RUNS!

S. OBSTACLE TRAINING

So, I’m still sick. But I’m tired of being tired and fucking waiting around to feel better, so my guy packed up our gear and got to it today.

It was only the two of us and we busted our asses. I hacked my way through the workouts and even threw up a little, but we got it done.

In between the exercises, we ran .40 miles x 4 + 0.5 mile finish lap.
The drag bag was about 60+lbs since we added more rocks to it.
Farmer walks w/buckets of rock: obviously sucked but focused on not letting my arms lock out.
Tire Flipping: Corey had to help me with the lift off a bit, but 20 flips done.

Total time: 2:03:12
Calories: 937
Max HR: 174 bpm
Avg HR: 138 bpm

We didn’t quit and thats what I love about us. He pushes me even when my lungs are burning and I feel like I have nothing left. He’s my rock and he’s amazing because others have excuses and he knows if you want to get from point A to point B, you can’t have excuses. You have to work, put in the time, blood, sweat and tears and get to it.

Avg HR: 113

Thoughts: I had a lot of energy. Not sure where it came from (teehee, prework drink ftw!), I felt good though. Went a little heavier than normal on flat bench, but it needed to be done. My incline suffered however because we powered right through weight lifting. I think it only took both of us about 47 minutes to complete chest & triceps….haha I think my time was more around 1:05/1:10 but I walked to the car without shutting off my hr watch. oops!

Went food shopping last night, showered, made Corey and I our protein shakes, gave him a foot rub, and fell asleep early. I’m sucha great girlfriend.

 T. BACK/BICEPS/ABS/CARDIO
It’s 3pm on a Tuesday and I’m antsy as hell. I’m like staring at the clock. I want to LIFT!!!! I haven’t focused on back in a couple of weeks, mainly because tire flipping & drag bag have taken over. But I need to lift for strength as well, obstacle training will take care of the rest. My back is still sore from Sunday, when we totally rocked it on the field. After a week off from everything, I’m fucking ecstatic to get back to it.

Thoughts: I haven’t trained back in about 2 weeks. Sucks, I felt strong but the numbers don’t lie people! Fatigued quicker than I’d like, but hey there’s next week ;-)

W. RUN  / ABS

Step Climber: 7 minutes

New Ab Routine x 3 sets x 4 exercises.

Time: 1:00:32
Calories: 533
Max HR: 186 bpm
Avg HR: 147 bpm

Thoughts: Running felt really good. My legs felt strong, but my lungs did not. I had to hold in my coughs or else I’d spin into a coughing fit running 7.0 mph. :-\ So I had a to stop and jump on the stair master while Cor finished his 3 miles.

I wanted to do more cardio, but unless I’m outdoors I feel like people just hate me. Abs was kickass though. We upped the sets/reps and I added another exercise to it. Next week I’m adding planks into it =]

 TH. OBSTACLE TRAINING
It was sooo much fun last night! We kicked ass. My cough is starting to go away completely and I can BREATHE  so much better. We had four people last night show up, so thats awesome. Corey and I were very excited to have a better attendance and have some fun. I hope to get more people on Sunday and next week. Corey and I are pretty good a recruiting.

S. Mixed Workout

Workout ONE: Tire Flipping: 450lb x 4, outdoor jogging

So I’ll explain. I love tire flipping. It’s fucking awesome. It incorporates your whole body, its a big challenge and when you finally push over that tire, its like you conquered the world. Okay, so its not that big of a deal in reality. But I love to do it and today I finally got my hands on a much bigger tire than I was use to. I initially thought I wasn’t going to be able to flip it, but once I figured out the position of where my hands were suppose to be for the best leverage, I got to flip it 4 times.

Since it wasn’t a planned workout, I went for a jog before and after.

Workout TWO: Cardio, Legs

M – OFF DAY

My guy was having a rough day, so we relaxed, caught up on a few shows and had some ice cream. BUT, I had non-fat, no sugar added, strawberry frozen yogurt by KEMPS. Fucking awesome. No fat, 5 grams of fiber, 3 grams of protein, 5 grams of sugar, and 5 grams of carbs. Yeah! The only bad thing about it, is it has aspartame, which I found out, doesn’t NOT agree with me. Eeep.

W. SPRINTING INTERVALS/ABS

I’m switching it up tonight. I’m going to do sprint intervals on the treadmill instead of long distance combined with abs. I need to stretch my legs. Maybe Friday will be a 4 mile run.

0.5 mile warmup run
Sprints x 1minute x 10 = 20 minutes
0.5 mile cool down run
2 minute walk

Ab routine x 4

Time: 41:49
Cals: 305
Max HR: 177
Avg HR: 134

Thoughts: Felt pretty good – I didn’t want to wear my legs out too much since tomorrow is going to be a heavy workout. I’m a little nervous since its going to be a big workout. Excited though, got 5 guys to go!

TH. TIRE FLIPPING / JOG / DRAG BAG

OUTDOOR WORKOUT!! So excited for this. We’ll have to measure things out a bit to set the pace for everyone. My boyfriend, our friend Tim and I will be doing this, so I’m pretty pumped. I’m homing to get at least 10-12 flips with the 450lb tire.

Warm up jog: .30 mile

Tire: 442lb
Tire Flips: 5 x 4 = 20 flips
Jogging Laps: .20 x 6 = 1.20 miles
Time: 54:36 minutes
Cals: 492
Max HR: 185 bpm
Avg HR: 149 bpm

Below is the patch of gravel we did laps around. To the right of the lap, is where we tire flipped on the grass.

Then we did a last big lap which was just under 0.5 mile:

And then we collapsed on the grass! It was a lot of fun. Had a total of 7 people show up, my mom and my two dogs to keep us going.

S. 2.5 mile Outdoor Run!

It wasn’t too bad. I actually did really well considering. There was no tightness, only swelling. But it didn’t burn when I stretched and I got through most of it before I had to stop to make sure the swelling wasn’t getting bad.

Time: 26.37
Calories: 247
Max HR: 179 bpm
Avg HR: 152 bpm
